My First Macbook Air

Oh my godness, my first MacBook Air just arrived and forget about all the wacky sounding comments of mine about this laptop. It’s just ART! I’m sending the unboxing pictures of the machine.

Isn’t it beautiful… Yes I’m working for Apple $100,000 a year to get one of these this earlier. You can check out the idea’s creator post to download the paper to print your own laptop. And be sure that I’m not the only at Cupertino to cause over usage of laser ink, glue and band, I’ve already seen 10-15 paper laptops around.

Just right after the device’s announce, the typical fan reviews are a lot different at the moment for the new MacBook Air. It’s not earth-shaking and it’s nothing revolutionary.

But the main question is “Did Apple even need a tiny laptop line?”. Apple’s traditional users are usually based on a multimedia audience says the president of Machintosh Uses Group, Scott Armstrong. So for such a audience, we must be insane to release a low performance machine without any FireWire input and only one USB port. This is getting worse if you remember the big effort Apple has done to promote FireWire

As a conclusion the target market of the Air is just tiny. And a USD $1799 machine is good choice for neither existing Apple audience nor the new converts who looks for portability. Why Apple designs, spends million of dollars and finially releases a machine noone will use? Macbook AirCraft looks like a better option to me.
