How many OSes can we release by 2011?
Poor Microsoft shifted back their upcoming operating system, Windows 7, (code-named Vienna) to the year 2011. So if they scheduled a 2011 release, most probably it’ll take a few more years for them to ship the product really, physically. I’m just curious how many tens of operating systems we can release while they are working on a copied version of our 5 year old products.
But if we have to be objective, it’s not easy to develop such an operating system for every kind of PC hardware and make it work. This is what the regular fan boy misses; give props to the Redmond if they deserve it. But, this complexity should take them to work on a single product called Windows. Consequently, they won’t put their all eggs in one basket, because they know they will never deliver a decent operating system.
In fact, who said our strategy (hardware + software package) is worse than those crappy programmers, at least we easily test and more easily maintain!

Hey, I'm an Apple employee, working at the HQs in Cupertino, San Francisco and a fangirl. I was always obsessed with Steve Jobs when I was younger, so I ended up being a computer scientist and working at Apple. And now, I'm writing what I've spent 10 years for.

Only my children can see? I’m so suprised that an Apple employee thinks it’s a big deal to develop Windows. To comment on Apple’s strategy, today’s tech
market cannot only rely on Apple, so Apple’s all in one model won’t work.
They didnt start to develop win7? I guess it’ll take a few more years to release the first beta.
Wow, I liked so much the not so new “300+ new features” introduced in Leopard!
I think that when you call it a new release it’s easy to release a version of OS X every year
I believe Apple can take it to the next level, while Microsoft copies its older buggy versions. I’m sure it’ll take a decade for them to come with a new core.
